Every year, hunger claims more lives than some of the world's deadliest diseases, leaving this nearly invisible problem unaddressed. However, people are more willing to donate if they're visually triggered or face a moral dilemma, making it easier for them to make a contribution in a matter of seconds.
Our idea was to use CAPTCHA, a Turing test used for transactions and logins online, to force users to think about the issue by strategically placing uncomfortable images. With millions of CAPTCHAs being used every day, we were able to turn every CAPTCHA grid into an awareness post, providing a simple but effective solution to combat hunger.
